Michael Block Struggles at Charles Schwab Challenge
FORT WORTH, Texas
Golfer Michael Block had a tough opening day at the Charles Schwab Challenge with a round that included seven bogeys, three double-bogeys, two birdies and one incredible par save after his tee shot landed on a bridge.
What Happened on the Course?
Block’s round got off to a shaky start with a bogey on the first hole, and things only went downhill from there. The 43-year-old from California struggled to find his groove and ended up with a disappointing score of 81, 11 over par.
Despite the difficult conditions, Block managed to salvage his round with a remarkable par save on the 13th hole. His tee shot landed on a bridge, which he then had to hit off of to get back onto the fairway. He went on to make a par on the hole, much to the delight of the spectators.
What’s Next for Block?
Block will need to make a dramatic improvement in his second round if he hopes to make the cut. He is currently tied for last place with two other golfers who also struggled on the first day.
Despite the disappointing start, Block remained positive and focused on the rest of the tournament. “It was a tough day, but there’s always tomorrow,” he said in his post-round interview. “I’m looking forward to getting back out there and giving it another shot.”
Hot Take: Block’s Brutal Round
While Michael Block’s opening round at the Charles Schwab Challenge was certainly one to forget, it’s important to remember that every golfer has bad days on the course. With his positive attitude and focus on improvement, there’s a good chance we’ll see Block bounce back in the rest of the tournament.
